21 May marked a milestone for Rural Roars Comedy—our 1st Birthday, and what a night it was! Held in the heart of our rural community, the celebration proved that you don’t need to be in a big city to enjoy big laughs.

From the moment doors opened, the room was buzzing and it soon became clear that this was going to be much more than just another comedy night; it was a celebration of what we have has built over the past year.... a space where top comedy talent meets the most engaged audiences.

🎤 The Line-Up That Left Us Wanting More

⭐ Jenny Collier

Jenny opened the night and immediately had the room under her spell. With a super sharp set and an effortless stage presence, she delivered punchlines that landed like thunder. Her material was personal, playful, and completely captivating—proving exactly why she’s headlining rooms across the country.

⭐ Don Biswas

Next up was Don Biswas, who brought his unique blend of political satire and personal insight. His intellectual humour had the audience hanging on every word. With a delivery that’s both measured and cutting, Don didn’t just make people laugh—he made them think, and then laugh harder.

⭐ Steve Hall

Closing the night was none other than Steve Hall, known to many from TV’s Russell Howard’s Good News and his stand-up acclaim. Steve’s set was a masterclass in comedy. His timing was impeccable, his stories were hilarious and the audience were completely mesmerized. Every joke built on the last, and by the end, the room erupted into what can only be described as a fitting climax to an unforgettable night.

While the acts brought the firepower, it was Steve McLean, our brilliant resident MC, who held the whole show together with effortless charm. Steve isn’t just a host... he’s the glue that binds the Rural Roars' experience together. From warming up the crowd to seamlessly introducing each act, Steve kept the laughs flowing and the atmosphere electric. His genuine connection with the audience made everyone feel a huge part of the celebration.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, Steve makes every night at Rural Roars feel like coming home—with a belly full of laughter.
